The bridge team.

I am now settling in and getting out and about to see guests and crew and ease myself back onto Seabourn Odyssey.

We are in the Black Sea at the moment having visited Nessebur and Varna in Bulgaria and today Constanza in Romania.

The view from my office this morning.

For those of you that have travelled on Seabourn you will know we do have Bulgarian and Romanian crew members. In these last 3 ports the crew have invited family members onboard and I have been delighted to share that experience. Mums, dads, grannies and kids have all come to say hello. It is a very proud moment for any crew member to be able to show their families around a ship so beautiful as this one. Kids come dressed up and always get an ice cream. Mums and Dads look on as sons and daughters show them around. It is a great sight.

The day to day tasks of running such a ship keep me occupied. Crew cabin inspections, galley inspections and the odd bit of paperwork thrown in for good measure take the hours away. The evenings are most enjoyable with formal dinners and chefs surprises to sample.

Mediterranean Night.

I caught these two off guard doing a great job in the Colonnade Restaurant serving the guests at our Mediterranean themed night where I have to say the Risotto was a world beater. The Chef, Pascale from France (where else) tempted us all with some new dishes.

We have a sea day tomorrow as we cross the southern Black Sea to make for Sinop in Turkey. Sea days in the summer season are not that frequent so we shall see what that brings for us.
